KSU Chapell®

KSU Chapell® is a new cultivar developed by Kentucky State University. Outstanding flavor, texture, and beautiful, large fruits. Very fast growing. Formerly called KSU 4-1. Flesh is thick and custardy with an exceptional, exotic fruity aroma, honeyed sweetness and fruity flavor. It is likely a seedling of Susquehanna™, which it resembles strongly, another very excellent pawpaw. Fruits average around 8-12 ounces with some larger, around 1 pound. Trees are very vigorous, strong and extremely fast growing with large, healthy foliage. It might be the fastest growing pawpaw cultivar available. A 10-year-old tree produces in excess of 50 fruit per tree, very fruity with many tropical notes in the complex flavor profile that is delicious and very desirable to consume. This cultivar was released by KSU and named 20th Sept. 2018.
